Every clean is recorded, and the records are kept for your Cask Marque and Environmental Health (EHO) audits.

Who it is for

  • Sports and social clubs
  • Village halls
  • Home bars
  • Pubs with garden bars

If you run your own lines and want a reliable local person to clean them on a regular schedule, this is the service.

How often we clean

We clean every 3 weeks using an interval-extending line cleaner. Weekly cleans are also available if you prefer.

We agree a regular visit day with you so cleans happen on schedule.

What a clean involves

  1. Check each line, coupler and tap, and note anything that needs attention.
  2. Flush the beer out of the lines with clean water.
  3. Fill the lines with line-cleaning solution and leave it to work for the time the cleaner's instructions specify.
  4. Clean the keg couplers and tap nozzles while the solution works.
  5. Flush the lines through with clean water until no cleaning solution remains.
  6. Reconnect, pull beer back through and check each line pours and tastes as it should.
  7. Record the clean, so you have an up-to-date record ready for audits.

Why regular line cleaning matters

Over time, yeast, bacteria and beer stone build up inside beer lines. That build-up can taint the flavour and aroma of a pint, make beer look hazy, and cause fobbing. Fobbing means more beer goes down the drain instead of into the glass.

Regular cleaning keeps beer tasting as the brewer intended and helps you get more saleable pints from each keg. It also gives you a clear cleaning record for Cask Marque and EHO audits.

Signs your beer lines need cleaning

  • Off or sour taste
  • Vinegar-like or musty smell
  • Hazy beer that should be clear
  • Excessive fobbing or foam
  • Flat beer or poor head
  • Visible build-up in the tap nozzle or coupler

If these sound familiar, see how often we clean or get a quote.
