Cocktails on Tap
Kegged serves such as Pimm's on draught, versus a staffed cocktail bar. Same cooling and coupler rules as beer. See all guides.
Two different jobs
People searching for cocktails on tap usually mean one of two things: a kegged drink poured through a beer tap, or a bartender making cocktails to order.
We do both. They are not the same kit.
Kegged serves through a draught tap
Some mixed drinks come in a keg and pour like beer: matching coupler, gas and a cooler. Pimm's keg hire is the usual example — garden parties, private parties and mixed bars, often next to a cider or lager tap.
The tap, python and cooler are the same family of kit as draught system hire. Size and fill are confirmed on the quote. The coupler guide lists Pimm's as A-Type; some UK fills differ, so we match the head to the keg you actually have.
This is a high-output pour, not a shaken cocktail. Guests get a consistent serve, quickly.
A staffed cocktail bar
If you want a written cocktail list, ice, glassware and someone who can make the drinks, that is cocktail bar hire. Arrival drinks and evening receptions are the usual brief. We have served arrival drinks at Clifford Manor.
Do not hire a Pimm's keg and expect Negronis. Do not hire a cocktail bar if you only wanted one mixed drink on a tap next to the lager.
What to book
- One kegged serve plus beer or cider: keg hire or draught system hire, with Pimm's if that is the mixed tap.
- A cocktail list: cocktail bar hire, with glass hire for the stems.
- Both: say so on the enquiry. The draught kit and the cocktail station are specced separately.
Cooling still matters on a kegged serve. See keg cooling for events if the bar is in a marquee or outdoors.
