Strongbow Keg Hire
High-volume draught cider for parties, festivals and sports events. We supply 30L and 50L Strongbow kegs with an S-Type coupler, CO2 and flash cooling. Add Dark Fruits as a second tap if you need it.
Wedding or party with 80 adults or more in England or Wales? We can bring a fully staffed cash bar for £150 instead. Guests pay at the bar and there is no minimum spend.
Strongbow keg specifications
Original Strongbow is 4.5% and is the cider we send when the brief is volume rather than a farmhouse pint. It uses an S-Type coupler, which is not the same as Thatchers. Plan the tap hardware before you pair the two.

Original Strongbow, or add Dark Fruits
This page is original Strongbow. If guests want the fruit cider, that is a separate keg: Strongbow Dark Fruits. Running both means two taps and enough cooler capacity, not one keg with a different badge.
Thatchers Gold is the other common cider hire, but it is G-Type. We will not send one coupler and hope. Festival bars often run Strongbow plus Carling or Heineken. If you expect a long afternoon session, say so: we would rather quote a second 50L than leave you dry at 4pm.
Do you need a cooler?
Cider on a festival field without cooling turns to foam. The flash cooler is part of the full setup. Dry hire only makes sense if the venue already has chilled lines and an S-Type head.

How we pour Strongbow
This is a busy-bar cider. Keep it cold, keep the tap fully open, and have a plan if you are adding Dark Fruits.
S-Type first
Confirm the coupler before the keg is in the van. Thatchers will not share this head.
Cool the lines
Pull a test pint after the cooler has been on. Discard the first warm glass.
One clean pour
Full tap, short head. Cider does not get a two-part settle.
Second tap if needed
Dark Fruits or a lager needs its own lines. Do not swap kegs mid-event on a single dirty line if you can avoid it.

We spec the kit
We confirm keg size, the correct coupler and the right gas before anything leaves the warehouse.
Delivery and setup
We deliver, connect the lines and run the first pints so the system is pouring correctly.
Collection
After the event we collect the keg, gas and cooler. Any unused keg that is still sealed at collection is refunded in full.
