Hawkstone Lager Keg Hire

The original Hawkstone Premium Lager on tap. We supply 50L kegs (about 88 pints) with an S-Type coupler, CO2 and a flash cooler for weddings, garden parties and farm venues.

Wedding or party with 80 adults or more in England or Wales? We can bring a fully staffed cash bar for £150 instead. Guests pay at the bar and there is no minimum spend.

Hawkstone Lager keg specifications

Hawkstone call this Premium Lager, or “the iconic one”. It is 4.8% and is a different drink from Session Lager (4%) and Pilsner (3.8%). Trade kegs are 50L on an S-Type Sankey coupler.

SpecificationDetails
Keg size 50L
Pint count About 88 pints
Coupler Type S-Type
Gas required CO2 or 60/40 mixed gas
ABV 4.8%
Best served Cold (3–5°C)

Premium Lager, not Session

This is the fuller Hawkstone lager: a smooth body, light citrus on top, a crisp bitterness and a malty backbone. Session Lager is lighter and 4%. If guests asked for “Hawkstone lager” they usually mean this one.

It needs a cold lager pour, not nitro. Do not put 70/30 stout gas on this keg. That mix is for Hawkstone Black. If the invitation already says “Hawkstone on tap” and nobody mentioned session strength, this 4.8% Premium Lager is the one we spec first.

Do you need a cooler?

Yes, unless the venue already has a cellar at lager temperature. Premium Lager at 8°C tastes sweet and flat. A flash cooler on a 13-amp socket holds 3–5°C in a marquee or function room.

The Hawkstone keg range

Hawkstone is the Cotswold farm brand. The drinks below are different products, not one lager with a swapped name. We hire them as separate 50L kegs.

How we pour Hawkstone Lager

One clean lager pass. The work is temperature and not confusing it with Session or Pils.

Cold glass

A warm or wet glass knocks the citrus and head straight off.

Full tap

Open fully. A half-open tap shears the beer and builds foam.

45° then upright

Fill at 45 degrees, then straighten for a short white collar.

Keep the cooler on

Leave it running between speeches. This lager warms quickly in the line.

How it works

A straightforward hire, from first enquiry through to collection.

Step 1

Tell us the brief

Send the date, venue and guest numbers, and whether you want Hawkstone Lager on its own or as part of a Hawkstone bar.

Step 2

We spec the kit

We confirm the 50L keg, S-Type coupler and the right gas before anything leaves the warehouse.

Step 3

Delivery and setup

We deliver, connect the lines and pull the first pints so the system is pouring correctly.

Step 4

Collection

After the event we collect the keg, gas and cooler. Any unused keg that is still sealed at collection is refunded in full.

Coverage and logistics

We deliver from the Midlands across the areas we cover. Hawkstone is a frequent ask for farm weddings, outdoor parties and trade shows. We have poured this keg at the Rock and Quarry Show near Buxton.

A second tap is usually Hawkstone Cider or Session Lager. Start from keg hire if you also want a mainstream brand on the bar.
